Air Canada mainline to take over San Diego route from Jazz

In a welcome change and a sign that this route is doing well, Air Canada will be placing a mainline Embraer E190 on the Calgary - San Diego route that is currently flown by Air Canada Jazz with a CRJ700. The new flight numbers for the route will be AC582/583. The change comes into effect Nov 1.

For years San Diego was off the chart for flights from Calgary, but apparently it is proving popular by this change from Air Canada and the fact that WestJet changed their service from seasonal to year round. Personally I love this as San Diego is one of my favorite cities to visit in the US, it is a great place for families (my daughters love Legoland, Sea World etc) and it has a totally different vibe (better IMHO) then that huge megalopolis just 2 hours North called Los Angeles.
